Ride Report #17

Ride Report #17

It’s been quite some time since I posted a Ride Report and I’ve been feeling a bit guilty about it…. so here goes.

Earlier this year, I moved from South Orange, NJ to Philadelphia, PA to put a focus on my Design/Toy studio, Applehead Factory. Ever since the snow melted I have taken the Ural for my commute to work which was one of the things I was most excited about the move to Philly.

I’ve grown extremely comfortable with the bike but still proceed with caution. On even the lightest of rainy days the Ural stays parked in the garage which will probably remain the case for the foreseeable future.

Although the heat and humidity can be brutal, I still wear a full face helmet, jacket and gloves even for the shortest of road trips. It amazes me to see guys wearing shorts, sandals and no helmet. I’m sure they feel comfortable but I hate to think what would happen to them if they were in an accident.

One of the greatest joys of owning a rig with a hack is having a passenger along for the ride. Here is a snapshot of my buddy Joe riding in the hack on our way back to the office after lunch.

I’ll try and get  new ride reports up on a regular basis…. until then check out the Applehead Factory site for what I’ve been up to lately.
