For the past few months I’ve been spending a large amount of time at work creating character animations for the world of FunGoPlay.com.
The team was fortunate in having Kurt Smith as part of the production, rigging the massive cast of characters that we’ve been animating. Kurt’s rigs have been some of the best I’ve worked with , and it’s been a blast animating these characters.
You can get a glimpse at some of the characters that are in the world of FunGoPlay from an earlier post I made on the site here: FunGoPlay Post
I’m not able to release any of the content from FunGoPlay, so instead, I asked Kurt to create a custom rig for my bi-ped frog character that graced the pages of HDRI3D (HDRI3D Article Post)and 3D World (3D World Article Post) magazines. The image was also selected to be part of the official LightWave 3D Gallery on NewTek’s site, which was a nice surprise. Here is the image that I created with the character:
To help get you started and to understand the rig itself, I’ve asked Kurt to put together a brief video that walks you through the main controls of the Roid Ribbit Rig. This should get you up and running within minutes. Check it out here:
You can download the source files after reading and fully understanding the following:
The models/scenes may be used royalty-free in your own work but they may not be used for any commercially or profit related purposes of any kind. Also, these meshes/scenes may not be sold individually or included in, or sold as, or provided for free in, a collection of any kind or any other electronic transfer methods.
Please also remember you must always credit the individual who originally created the model/Scenes. This credit must appear within your work and by using the model/scene you agree that you will do this.
If you agree to these terms, enjoy the Roid Ribbit Rig Source Files: Roid Ribbit Rig Download
I look forward to seeing what the LightWave community creates with these files. If you like the content, leave a comment below and be sure to send some love Kurt’s way for taking the time to develop such a fun rig to work with.
Enjoy and Happy Animating!
